NUJ, Congress of African Journalists Hail Soneye On 2025 NIPR Overall Best Spokesman Award

The Nigerian Union of journalists and Congress of African Journalists have congratulated the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), on his emergence as the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) overall Spokesman of the Year 2025.

In a congratulatory statement made available to journalists, the President of the Congress of African Journalists, (CAJ), Dr Chris Izoguzo MFR, noted that the recognition was well-deserved and a clear affirmation of Soneye’s commitment to transparency, professionalism, and impactful communication in Nigeria’s vital oil and gas sector.

He equally commended the rigorous selection process, which led to his emergence, saying the recognition reflects the exceptional skill, integrity, and strategic effectiveness Soneye brought to his role at the NNPC Ltd.

A similar congratulatory statement signed by the Secretary of the Nigerian Union of journalists, FCT Council, Jide Oyekunle, indicated that Soneye’s outstanding leadership as Chief Corporate Communications Officer at
NNPC Ltd has set a new benchmark in corporate communications, brand penetration, and stakeholder engagement within the oil and gas industry.

Oyekunle added further that Soneye’s innovative strategies have been implemented to enhance the reputation of NNPC Ltd and the sector at large.
